I really enjoyed Liza Marklund's last work published in English and now the hard part is having to wait for the next one.
For me it has been a long way since reading my first Henning Mankel's book when I got hooked and became addicted to the nordic noir or scandinavian crime fiction or any other denomination you like.I have read all Mankel's books,all Jo Nesbo's ,Asa Larson's,Karen Alvteggen's;Yrsa Sigurdadotir's,Liza Marklund's,,HelenTursten, etc...etc...etc...
I am always looking for a new author,new at least for me ,and I am glad I decided to try Liza's books.I hope she will give a long life to Anika Bengtzon and a lot of pleasure to all of us ,her fans.
I enjoyed so much Lifetime that I ignored some problems I had for the first time reading a Kindle version - there were missing parts,some gaps when I turned the pages.

Got this on and the pages didn't always match up when going to the next page. Sometimes just a few words sometimes a sentence and sometimes the next page didn't make sense.
Marklund never lets down. I am looking forward to Annika's next case and to the resolution of her child custody battle.
I've just finished reading "Lifetime". I was disappointed. The story is disjointed and undistinguished. If you can manage to make it through the first 320 pages, the last 50 pages finally pull the novel together. This is not the caliber of Liza Marklund's other Annika Bengtzon series novels which I loved. I've read all of her English translated crime novels, whether they were done in the US or the UK, and loved them all "The Bomber"; "Exposed"; "Vanished"; "Prime Time", "The Red Wolf", "Last Will". She is an excellent writer. I had eagerly awaited "Lifetime". I had to force myself to read the entire book. Don't judge Liza Marklund's work by this book if you have not read her other books. Read the others. They are terrific. Translations of "A Place in the Sun", a sequel to "Lifetime", and "Borderline", which takes place a few years after "Lifetime", are forthcoming. I'm not sure yet what I'll do about reading them.
Couldn't put down this latest from Liza Marklund, #7 in series. Wonderful read with nearly the same characters as other books in series; can't wait for #8 to come out sometime soon, I hope!
The story follows several parallel themes that do not totally converge, which is a blessing. The hero (heroine) of the story is not initially clear, but does emerge and the character portrayed is believable and well drawn. There is a neat twist at the end that does not interfere with the story, but makes one think about the earlier events with a different perspective.

A good read within the genre of Scandinavian detective stories that are becoming increasingly popular.
never thought any one would lure me away for Henning Mankell or one of my favorite Icelandics, but hey, love how fast, modern and yet deeply complex the heroines of Lisa Marklunds web of reporters, photographers and editors are as they take on murder in a way the police can't.
This novel marks our flawed Hero out as more of a Detective than the Detectives, and is the start of a story arc that goes through the next novel in the series, also, so make sure you read them in order! Loved it, as I have pretty much all of Liza Marklund's work so far. She is, thank goodness, prolific in her work and delivers those of us now addicted to the adventures of Annika Bengzton, another ripping yarn.
